Jason Schreyer and Alex Newman, Partners of Sunset Custom Cabinetry and Woodwork, are celebrating two years in business, this year. Sunset Custom Cabinetry is a full-service, custom woodworking shop. The craftsmen use state-of-the-art equipment to create kitchen cabinetry, outdoor kitchens, bathroom vanities, custom furnishings, entertainment centers, and closet storage solutions. Most recently, the company added wood ceiling options to their portfolio. Their service area includes all of SW Florida from Port Charlotte to Marco island.

Celebrating two years in business: Expanding to meet client’s needs
Sunset Custom Cabinetry and Woodwork began in 2017. The company experienced significant growth by offering top quality products and service. In fact, within the first six months they hired another expert craftsman to meet the needs of the growing business. In addition, their facility expanded from a 2000 sq. ft. warehouse to their current location in Ft Myers, a state-of-the-art facility with over 5000 sq. ft. Since 2017, the company has completed dozens of projects for both residential and commercial clients.
Great minds think alike
Jason and Alex have been friends for many years. This friendship evolved into a business partnership after Jason and Alex collaborated on a business idea. Alex has always had a passion for wood-working, and wanted to share his talent with others. As a result, they decided to open a custom wood-working business. Their goal would be to provide quality-made wood products to residents and business owners looking for stylish, custom furniture.

Alex would utilize his experience as an expert craftsman and lead the efforts in creating unique, custom pieces from raw wood stock. “I chose to work in this industry because from a very young age, I discovered the joy of woodworking, and taking pride in a job well done,” Alex recalls.
Celebrating two years in business: Crafting ideas
The process begins with an idea. Next, the idea is brought to life through Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. The next step includes creating a 3D model of the desired product. Then, the craftsman creates the piece using raw wood product, exactly how the customer had envisioned. The craftsman remains with the project from start to finish, including installation.

“Recently, we added tongue-and-groove wood ceiling options to our portfolio to help our clients achieve a desired ambience for any room. We will continue to evaluate other product offerings that will enhance our client’s lives. Our financing plans make it easy for customers to work with us no matter their budget. We look forward to helping more businesses and homeowners with their ideas on any project they are considering,” says Newman.
